A GEM of a light! Reviews Streamlight 44900 Waypoint Spotlight with 12V DC Power Cord

It has been a week or so and I have been using the Streamlight 44900 Waypoint Spotlight every night 5 days a week. It puts light where I need it. It evens lights up the inside of a car from 400 feet. I am using rechargeable batteries which are much lighter. It does not hamper the performance at all. So I do not have to hold it all the time I used one of my single point shotgun slings and cross it over my torso.

Impressive and uses little energy. Much better than those with heavy built in battery. Get rechargable c cells and use them when you don't have 12V access. Light is much lighter and useful. Still believe in the boogeyman, this Streamlight 44900 Waypoint spot light will surely light your way. Close to a half mile of light beam. Very impressed with the strength of the beam.

What makes a Good product into a GREAT one lies in the details. This LED Spotlight is very well designed as are all of the Streamlight products. It is light, rugged, water resistant and very well built. Do not be fooled by the 210 Lumen output.

I have other LED flashlights with the same or even higher Lumen ratings but nothing can compare to how well this beauty projects the beam. Here are the Details that allow the Streamlight to stand out :

• Price is middle of the road for this type of light, while Quality is WAY ABOVE average.
• IT uses "C" batteries, so you never have to wait for a recharge - - just swap batteries or use the 12v dashboard power supply in your car or boat.
• 'Trigger' on/off switch stays on when pushed. Second push turns it off. Nice rubber non-slip coating on the trigger.
• The high-low-strobe switch is easily reached with the thumb while holding light - yet is recessed so you wont accidentally bump it to a different setting.
• There's a nice ratcheted stand on the top of the light to let you sit the light down, with lots of selectable angles. The stand folds out of the way when you don't need it.
• On top of all that, there's a 'hood' for the light that can be screwed to, say, a boat deck, so the light can be slipped into a secure semi-permanent mount.
• The battery compartment is easy to access, and has an usefully large (easy to grab without tools) thumb-screw lock.
• Finally, the fit and finish are all very impressive. That thing just feels well designed.

I can't imagine how I'd be any happier with this light. I WILL NOTE that if you're looking for the absolutely highest candle power, there are units of similar size that are a bit brighter. That said, you'd need a pretty specialized reason to require more light than this baby puts out.

"Fabulous spotlight.I purchased this light together with some eneloop AA rechargeable batteries and the requisite spacers (as this light needs C batteries). The compact size and shape are perfect, and the water resistant feature seems to be effective. The different settings of high beam, low beam, and strobe work well and seem to meet most any requirement of this style of light. I would highly recommend it, even if it still smelled!
