Then I can put away my 12v 8xD 2-bulb flourescent lamp. A gallon of Coleman white-gas (naptha) fuel has lasted us for 3 years of camping (about 12 campouts or 24 days/nights total - cooking and using this lantern.) The Powerhouse is an extraordinarily bright lantern, and quite simply blows away any propane-driven model.
What Others Are Saying About Coleman Two-Mantle Dual Fuel Powerhouse Lantern
"Powerful, bright lantern. I have used this lantern many times and it does provide ample light. On lower settings the fuel lasts a very long time. The mantles can be a bit tricky to light up when starting, using long match sticks or extended lighter can make it easier. "By Luis
" Coleman lanterns are a must, not just for camping but for loss of power. You can use Colman fuel or unleaded gasoline (the Colman fuel burns brighter) I bought this to replace the one I had for 30 years. The old one didn't berak someone stole it or I would still have it for years. This lantern is very similar, it is a little easier to operate and my old one was green. Aside from that it is the same reliable product. " By Kevin (suffolk NY)
" The usual loud hiss of the traditional coleman lantern is missing but what takes its place is a quiet whisper of sound. We were very pleased with this lantern and our only complaint is the small matchlight hole. The common butane lighters are too big to fit through the matchlight hole. You need a fireplace match to reach the mantles because a regular match will not reach. " By J. OConnor (Orangevale, CA)

If you want a brilliant light that lights up your night choose this awesome lantern at 1100+ Lumens. This lantern is very adjustable so if you want it dim you can do that. The fact that it uses liquid fuel means that it works great at high altitude and in cold weather when propane tanks ice over and lose pressure.
